TOWNSEND is Hiring an Equipment operator Near Brookville, IN

Position Summary

The Equipment Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining equipment required for assigned jobs. This position will also be responsible for ensuring that proper safety guidelines are followed at all times and report any safety concerns immediately.

This person will report to the General Foreperson and Manager for the site.

Duties and Responsibilities Include

Essential Duties

  • Inspects and reports necessary repairs to tools, trucks, and other equipment
  • Coordinates work for crew members
  • Services equipment to keep it clean, neat, and in specified mechanical condition
  • Participates in daily job briefings and safety meetings
  • Operates and services equipment
  • Trains new personnel
  • Keeps informed on new equipment, specifications, standard practices, and operating procedures
  • Starts each workday with an inspection of tires, controls, fuel, and fluids to ensure reliable operation
  • Duties and responsibilities may change with or without notice

What You'll Bring to the Team

Operate all tools and equipment required on the job site

Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record per Company requirements

Knowledge of essential job functions and responsibilities

Attention to detail

Organizational skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Meet all physical requirements of the position
  • Pass all drug and alcohol screens as required by Company policy and, if applicable, required by DOT regulations
  • 18 years of age or older, or 21 if CDL is required
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Preferred

  • Two (2) or more years of equipment operator experience
  • Mechanical training
  • DOT Compliance knowledge
